All our products are Designed & Woven in Maine, USA
Brahms Mount blankets are woven from propriety yarns on Crompton and Knowles W3 shuttle looms. This type of loom dates from the 1940’s and formed the backbone of the Industrial revolution of this country. They produce selvedges that cannot unravel or be aesthetically obtained on modern equipment. We hand fold the edges on all sides and securely sew them in place. This feature avoids the use of attached bindings. Furthermore it ensures long life to our products. Depending upon the style, an individual Queen size blanket contains upwards of 5.80lbs of pure Cotton. Linen blankets are slightly weightier. This is an important consideration in our design process since we wish to provide the drape and "hand" essential to a good nights sleep.
Brahms/Mount blankets wear like your favorites. Durable? Absolutely! Will they last forever? They are woven from natural fibers and last according to the traffic pattern… a little love and care goes a long way.
Brahms/Mount blankets are entirely original fabrics, simply designed for function and comfort. The Natural Fibers that we weave have inherent properties that provide softness, drape, and weight. Natural Fibers also create fabrics that breathe well when in use next to you. Natural fibers recycle with the least effect upon Global Warming and unlike Synthetic fibers are created from renewable resources. The body's response is one of comfort and well being. Each of the fibers has characteristics of it's own. The Alpaca Wool will be the softest to touch, and the warmest, the Cotton will feel the most thick and dense, the character of Linen is always best displayed when in use, gaining drape and grace, handling moisture movement as nature's true wicking fiber. Not only are natural fibers the most comfortable, they have variations in texture that contribute to their appeal. Brahms Mount Textiles blankets and throws you will love.
